CIETAC Welcomed Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Professional Delegation to China

On 15 April 2008, 14 delegates from the U.S. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Professional Delegation to China visited CIETAC. These delegates are experienced experts in law and arbitration.

Mr. Yu Jianlong, the General Secretary of CIETAC, and other CIETAC members introduced CIETAC's general situation, organization, case accepting and administration, and answered questions from the delegates. The Delegation is concerned with such issues as the role of the traditional Chinese philosophy 'harmony is the most precious' in the development of ADR, the med-arb dispute resolution way established and developed by CIETAC, the arbitration environment in China, Chinese mediation, etc., and looks forward to more sino-America cooperation and exchange on ADR so as to push forward the economic and trade exchange between the two nations. Mr. Yu made detailed explanation for the above issues, and pointed out the gradually perfected legal system in China can surely protect and serve foreign investors in all aspects. Arbitration, with its special advantages, is under vigorous development in modern China in which a harmonious society is being constructed.

The visit is finished satisfactorily in harmonious and friendly atmosphere. The two sides will continue their communication in the future and push forward the development of sino-America economic and trade exchange in joint efforts.
