CIETAC hosts an American Bar Association delegation

An American Bar Association (ABA) delegation, headed by Mr. Kenneth B. Reisenfeld, Chair of ABA Section of International Law, visited the CIETAC headquarters in Beijing on June 22, 2005. Mr. Jianlin Zhu, the Deputy Secretary General of CIETAC, met the delegation and made an introduction to CIETAC, as well as the new Rules which just came into force on May 1. During the meeting, Mr. Zhu answered questions from members of the delegation, including questions pertaining to the Code of Ethics for Arbitrators, selection of arbitrators, extent of judicial review of arbitral awards in China and resolution of investment disputes, etc. The two sides also had a good discussion about the role that ABA members play in international arbitrations by CIETAC, especially those involving an US company.
